As we are all aware, we are now in a national lockdown with the COVID-19 virus currently in a new infectious wave, especially with the more virulent mutation spreading. Infection figures are rising (including in Southwell), the local hospitals are coming under ever-increasing pressure and more people are testing positive having been asymptomatic.
We have therefore reviewed whether we should continue to facilitate the gathering of 30-50 or so people (several of whom are in the most vulnerable categories) in the church building for the 10.00am Sunday morning services.
Although collective worship services are permitted to continue, PCC has regretfully decided that it would be wise to suspend these services for the rest of January at least, with a further review for a possible re-commencement in February, when hopefully things might have improved and more of our regular attenders might also have received their initial vaccination.
Of course the online services will continue and also Private Prayer on Wednesdays.
We trust that you will understand this, and if you have any concerns then please do get in touch.
