What would Jesus Drive?What does your car say about your caring?There is a campaign in the US run by some Evangelicals called “What Would Jesus Drive?” to highlight the mismatch between America's love affair with the automobile and it's love of Jesus.
Within the UK we are no less hypocritical; car transport accounts for 10% of carbon dioxide emissions and thus it seems that our desire to be able to travel when and where we choose is harming the world God made. Maybe the answer to “what would Jesus drive?” is “a bicycle.”
But we're not Jesus. We hope to be like him one day, but until then all we can do is be open to allowing ourselves to be changed to become more like him. Love thy neighbour as thyself “Love thy neighbour as thyself” was commanded to us...and one way we can do that is by reducing the impact our lifestyles are having on God’s earth and, ultimately, on all of God’s creation.
