"Here to help people know God through Jesus"

Welcome to Holy Trinity Southwell's website. We are an Evangelical Anglican Church and seek to be friendly and contemporary in styles of worship and teaching. We seek to relate the Bible to daily life and develop warm relationships within the church family and the wider community. Mission and evangelism are key aspects of our life together.

With just a few weeks to go, Tearfund are offering you two ways to bring justice into your giving this Christmas.

(1) Living Gifts - Buy a coupon from Tearfund (some coupons are available from Margaret Newstead) and give it to someone as a present this Christmas.  They can choose which part of Tearfunds work will benefit from the gift by filling in the relevant details and posting the coupon to Tearfund.  Coupons are £8, £15, £25, £50, £100, £250.  They can also be purchased on line where full details of the scheme are given.

(2) Tearcraft - Purchase your Christmas gifts from Tearcraft.  You can order your gifts through their catalogue (there are some catalogues at the back of Church) or you can go online to see the items available and make your purchase by that method.

All the above information can be seen in greater detail in Teartimes or by visiting the Tearfund website http://www.tearfund.org       Trevor Gatie

Christmas Stamps - This Christmas the PO are to issue both secular stamps and Religious stamps but like last year, you have to stipulate if you want religious !! Apparently each PO has been asked to send in to HQ totals for each (possibly to say there is no demand for the latter !) We have been asked to make everyone we know aware of this and that the Christians amongst us should ask for religious stamps in order to keep Jesus at the centre of the event.

Churches Together Ladies Choir - Invitations are now going out to regular members of the Choir to sing at two services next year. The first on Saturday 14th February at 11 am in Newark Parish Church is 'A celebration of Marriage' service . The second the Women's World Day of Prayer service in Southwell Minster on Friday 6th March. If you haven't sung with us before but would like to take part please contact Gwen Bragg

Musical Accompaniment  - There is an urgent need at the Sunday evening 6pm Service.   Currently assistance is required on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays.  Organ, keyboard or guitar would be welcome.   If you are able to assist, please speak with Mark or with Margaret Newstead.

Our warmest congratulations go to Mrs Julie Rischer the Head Teacher, Nigel Ladbury (chair of Governors) and Judith Robbins, Foundation Governor. Framework Street Collection, Southwell.
Saturday 17th January 2009
Ron Smithers is arranging the above and is looking for 20 collectors who could spend up to an hour at 5 collecting points in the town between 8.30 am and 1.00 pm.  In taking on this responsibility, Ron considers that we are again remembering the life of Christine Russell who was a founder staff member of Framework which provides housing, support, training, care and resettlement services for homeless and vulnerable people throughout Nottinghamshire.   I would warmly support this and if you are able to assist perhaps you could contact Ron.
